Chichester
On 22nd March 2016 we collected our first caravan from Sussex Caravan Centre on the A24 and heading out to Chichester Camping and Caravan Club site with Steve's sister Gill, her husband David with their Abbey Caravan. They showed us "the ropes" so we could start our fantastic journey.
We had never owned a caravan before and only had a couple of "taster" sessions in Gill and David's caravan at places like Sandy Balls and the Caravan Club Rally. Towing a caravan was all new to us and following David and Gill from Sussex Caravans to Chichester was somewhat "exciting".
David was a long time HGV driver, mechanic and caravan towing guy, so going slowly to allow Steve time to aclimatise to towing did not really occur to him. Arriving at Chichester camp site all safe and sound, setting up the caravan seemed reasonably straigt forward; jockey wheel down, steadying legs down, level up the caravan, plug in the EHU, get the water "Aqua-Roll" filled and connected and settle into some chairs for a cuppa.
