Pepper Pot Caravan Park
After our enjoyable experiences touring the UK in the caravan, we decided to try a private site in the Gloucestershire countryside on our way to Cornwall. The pepper pot was a short stay. Pepper Pot Caravan Park in Lower Wick, near Dursley, appealed to us as a peaceful, family-run spot nestled on the edge of the Cotswold hills, offering an excellent base for exploring the area's natural beauty without the structure of a club site.
How Wrong Can you Be!
The site is right next to the motorway with loads of traffic nearly all the time. The Local Pub which the site recommended for Sunday Lunch DID NOT OPEN ON SUNDAYS
This site held the promise of Cotswolds Edge Comfort
The site was well-maintained and welcoming, with spacious pitches that included hardstanding options and full services, making it straightforward to settle in with our setup. We appreciated the clean facilities, including tidy showers and toilets, and the large central grass area that gave a relaxed, open feel. Being dog-friendly suited us perfectly for walks with Pippin around the rural surroundings. A handy pub next door provided good meals for easy evenings. From there, we enjoyed gentle outings along local footpaths, with the nearby Cotswold Way offering scenic routes, plus short drives to attractions like Berkeley Castle or Slimbridge Wetland Centre for wildlife spotting. It reinforced how rewarding these independent stops can be in discovering quieter corners of England.
Final Verdict
Having said all that our conclusion was that we would not stay there again!
